Description
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is involved in many biological mechanisms in the body. The foods we eat provide only a negligible amount of vitamin D (only 20% of the required intake). The body synthesizes vitamin D mainly through exposure to sunlight (15-20 minutes is sufficient). However, certain factors disrupt the skin's production of vitamin D. Thus, nearly 80% of the French population is thought to be vitamin D deficient.
There are two forms of vitamin D: vitamin D2 and vitamin D3. Vitamin D2, or ergocalciferol, is of plant origin, and vitamin D3, or cholecalciferol, is of animal origin.
Several studies have shown that vitamin D3 is the most stable and bioavailable form for the body. For effective supplementation, it is therefore important to preferentially choose the vitamin D3 form.
Plant-Based Vitamin D3 is a dietary supplement that provides vitamin D in its most bioavailable form, cholecalciferol (vitamin D3). This vitamin D3 is obtained from boreal lichen, the only viable plant source of D3. This formulation offers plant-based vitamin D3 to meet the needs of the entire family, including vegetarians and vegans, ensuring stable and optimal absorption.
Typical situation: You want to support your immune system¹ or your bone health², but your sun exposure is insufficient for optimal vitamin D synthesis? Plant-based Vitamin D3 extracted from boreal lichen helps you meet your vitamin D needs.
Did You Know?
Boreal moss has a unique characteristic: it is one of the few plant sources capable of producing vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), generally of animal origin. This particularity makes it possible to obtain a plant-based vitamin D3 that is not only easily assimilated by the body, but also ideal for vegetarians and vegans. The moss grows naturally in cold, undisturbed environments, often in mountainous or northern areas. The moss regenerates naturally, thus allowing for a respectful harvest of the plant resource, without depleting it.
